Texas Queen Gift Basket - Texas Gift Basket for Mom
For so many mother's days as I was growing up, I enjoyed getting to make mom something on mother's day. One year, I remember working so hard on a coupon book for chores. They were probably chores that I was supposed to complete anyway, however mom humbly accepted my gift with smile.
We get great feelings from our children even for a great attempt because it shows that they really know about giving, and what is the right thing to do.
Then as I got older and had a job, I enjoyed trying to find:
1) a great gift for mom and 2) something that I could afford.
This was a bit harder to do than a craft, but I remember that is sure gave me a good feeling knowing that I afforded it on my own. So mom still proudly displays many a ceramic butterfly, fridge magnet, and wall hangings that was given to her on this special day.
It's still fun to try to find that special treat for mom on her day. Once you are older, you really know exactly what mom likes and dislikes, down to the style or color or flavor. You know whether she'll appreciate a certain gift, or let it sit unused in the closet.
We all love being on mom's good side though, we understand it at all ages. "Ain't nobody happy unless mom is happy"
Texas mom's are a special treat, their loyalty to family, gift for teaching us a lesson using the 'it's your idea' theme, tough love, ability to do things on their own, and the buckets of never-ending love they can dish out, make them quite a treasure - sort of like the whole state of Texas. Thanks mom, today and everyday! Texas Vintage Postcard Candle Gift
