Lone Star Baskets prides it's self on our products that go into every gift. Our goal is to give a gift that one is proud of giving as well as to make your recipient be genuinely excited about their gift. The Salsa's that we pick to go into our gift baskets are no exception. We know people love great Salsa because our best sellers are picks of various dips and Salsas, like the Texas Office Party and the Texas Snack which includes 4 different selections.
Our Texas-Texas is our favorite brand, just the perfect amount of heat and sweet, in the perfect amount of liquid. All natural and made in San Antonio, this salsa is great on eggs, in recipes, like King Ranch Chicken, and by the jar with tortilla chips - I don't personally know this (smirk) but my husband does it ALL the time!
We also carry their specialty brand Peach Salsa - Oh my - this stuff, we'll I'll be honest - I do eat this by the jar - the small little chunks of flavorful peaches add this addicting taste and you just can't stop eating it - good thing it's all healthy stuff - so no worries! I buy the corn oil fried - all natural corn chips available here and wow - it's gone in minutes.
Our other Salsa selection has a little different taste and texture - it's not as chunky and has a bit more black pepper taste to it. It's made in Telephone Texas, thus the Hell on the Red name - Telephone is a small town on the Red River near Oklahoma. Don't worry, it's still in Texas :) We mix in the HOT sometimes too, which gets a big fat seal of approval from the famed blog "Homesick Texan". (Great site if you get a chance to visit).
Hell on the Red produces our Cheese or Queso Dip too. It's a great dip for topping nachos or enchilada and has lots of little bits on onion and red pepper throughout.
Our newest family member is Bugtussle Burn, hailing from the mighty 15 people or so, in Bugtussle Texas. We heard that the name came from one of several stories: a Bug infested ice cream social back in the day, or the fact that the only thing to do there is watch bugs tussle around, or the third explanation came when two old-timers where arguing about what to name the city, when their attention was diverted by the spectacle of two tumblebugs fighting and one said "Look at those bugs tussle" - thus ending the argument and rechristening the town "Bug Tussle".
I digress, this awesome salsa is a thinner salsa, made only of the fresh ingredients that are put inside, a sweeter but hotter variation of our others, but you will be hooked! Deeeelicious!
Oh, fill yourself up. This food is health food, salsa is great for you!
